Graduate Writing Specialist
Spring 2020 Office Hours: Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays by appointment
The KU Writing Center's Graduate Writing Specialist, Dr. Claire McMurray, works exclusively with graduate students to help them learn how to improve their graduate-level writing. Dr. McMurray holds office hours for graduate students whose needs go beyond the Writing Center's traditional graduate writing consultations. She has several areas of expertise: adjusting to graduate-level writing, overcoming writer's block, publishing journal articles, writing grant/fellowship applications, and completing academic job applications. In addition, she can provide writing coaching, which can be particularly helpful for those in the thesis/dissertation writing process.
Dr. McMurray is available for face-to-face or online appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8am-4pm) or for online appointments on Mondays (9:30am-1:30pm). After your initial meeting, you may discuss the possibility of a future appointment with Dr. McMurray, though she does not normally offer appointments on a regularly occuring basis. If you wish to make an appointment to meet with the Graduate Writing Specialist, fill out the online scheduling form. For questions concerning GWS services contact the Writing Center's main office at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 785-864-2399.
